Melba Wilson

James Beard nominee Melba Wilson, born and raised in Harlem, is a highly successful African-American figure in the restaurant and catering industries. Starting at Sylvia’s Restaurant, she pioneered the Sunday Gospel Brunch, attracting industry elites. In 2004, she launched her own ventures, including Melba’s Restaurant and Catering. Melba has received acclaim, appeared on national shows, and served as a lead judge. Beyond her culinary achievements, she's a philanthropist, recognized with numerous awards, and currently serves as the first female and person of color President of the NYC Hospitality Alliance. Celebrating 19 years in business, Melba has served over 6 million meals.
